When combined with a precision power analyzer, the power measurement breakout box provides a convenient way to simply “plug in and measure” the power and energy consumption of any AC appliance or single-phase load. Precision power analyzers typically use a series shunt measurement for current combined with a parallel voltage measurement that requires custom wiring and fixturing. The breakout box uses standard IEC C14 and C13 connectors that can be used with any international single-phase plug and socket connection providing a “wall socket” and ” a three-prong or two prong plug”. Voltage and current connections to the power analyzer are made with high-quality banana jacks where the notations are consistent with those found on industry-standard power analyzers (see the hookup guide here for a further technical description). The box itself is made from extruded aluminum with rugged thick-wall side panels all of which have been powder coated and laser etched. Box provided with North American socket and plug cables, other cable types available upon request.
